Where in Houston can I receive treatment?
Our physical therapists are available for appointments anywhere in Houston. We come to you to make the physical therapy experience as convenient as possible. We know how special Houston is with its diverse neighborhoods like Montrose, the Museum District, and the Heights. We understand how hard Houstonians work every day, whether they're commuting on the Katy Freeway or enjoying a day at Memorial Park. We created Luna to help residents in Houston relieve the stress of securing prescriptions, checking for insurance coverage, finding a close enough clinic, dealing with waiting lists, and making frequent trips through traffic to get the care they need.
Is in-home physical therapy covered by insurance?
Luna accepts many insurance plans, and we handle the benefits verification process for you. With Luna, you’ll typically pay the co-pay your insurance plan requires for clinic visits. We accept most major commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicare Advantage.
Do I need a prescription (referral) to see a Luna physical therapist?
In most cases, you will not need a referral for physical therapy. Some insurance providers do require a doctor’s referral, and we’ll promptly let you know if that’s the case with your insurance. Read more about prescriptions.
When and where can I have my physical therapy appointment?
Appointments for private physical therapy at home are available 7 days a week, from 6:30 am - 9:30 pm. We make it hassle-free to complete your full course of care by having your Luna therapist come to you. In general, our therapists treat patients at home. See our clinic comparison chart.
Can I see the same physical therapist every session?
We strive to have a single physical therapist work with each patient for their entire course of care. In very rare cases, your scheduling priorities may require adjustments, but you’ll always know who is seeing you for your appointment in advance.
Commercial insurance / Self-pay rules
In Texas, Direct Access rules allow patients to be seen for physical therapy for up to 30 consecutive calendar days. The Luna team will work with your doctor to obtain a prescription if more visits/time is needed.
Medicare rules
Medicare requires a signed plan of care for physical therapy. Your Luna therapist will create a plan of care during your first visit, and the Luna team will work with your doctor to get it approved. You will need a new plan of care established every 90 days or 10 visits whichever is sooner.
